We're moving to a house that needs a new bathroom and I'm just trying to get an idea of what it'll cost. I've found rough ideas of what I think most of the materials (i.e bath, taps, loo, sink and vanity, shower and enclosure, tiles and flooring) but have absolutely no idea about the cost of the actual work. How much should a new bathroom cost? [Deleted User] Posts: 0 Newbie 20 January 2023 at 7:01PM edited 24 March 2023 at 7:02AM Hi all I have a small bathroom.
Around 2.6m x 1.6m. I used B&Q and Victoria Plumb design service and got quoted over £14k! I appreciate this is everything being ripped out and replaced, but this just seemed way too much. We are getting quotes for a new bathroom - it's 7ft x 8ft approx with a separate toilet beside the bathroom.

Mid 2023, we had a full bathroom refit including new layout, two new stud walls, fancy (fiddly to fit!) tiles, and all new mid-range fixtures (bath, shower, basin & unit, WC, extract, storage cupboard).
We were initially quoted £10k, and paid £15k all-in (we chose more expensive tiles, fixtures etc.). Your quote feels a bit high to me! Hi Any ideas of the sort of cost for replacing a bathroom? Take out and remove old bath, toilet and sink. Fit new bath, toilet and sink.

Remove all tiles and replace tiles on wall with newtiles around 27 sqm. Fit external fan in bathroom. Fit new radiator, pipework there already.
Any idea on the labour for the above? How about the cost of bath, toilet, sink, taps, tiles, fan, radiator. Any. So I've done up various bathrooms myself and employed plumbers/handymen/bathroom fitters over the years too.
My conclusion is a proper bathroom fitter is worth their weight in gold! They can do all the plumbing, obviously, but they just know what to do in situations where you uncover something unexpected. I spent just under £10k for a small bathroom with no layout changes. This includes new bath, shower, radiator towel rail, built in toilet, sink and storage units along one wall, full wall and floor tiling, ceiling lights and fan and replaster, and floor.
The price also includes all the tiles.
