Bathroom remodel My wife and I recently purchased a home and want to remodel our bathroom. Our master bathroom is 5x8 with a walk in shower, single vanity, toilet, mirror and medicine cabinet. We had one reputable firm come out and provided us with a $38,000 quote.
I also recently called for a bathroom remodel quote, this was hilarious, $100k to remodel a single bathroom, not install a new addition to the home, but just take out some drywall and put a different shower in. The job itself is about $18,500. We've spent about $4k on fixtures separately. $1k for a double vanity from Wayfair, $800 for a fancy toilet that requires electrical (Amazon), $700 for a freestanding tub (Amazon), ~$500 on fixtures and LED mirrors (Amazon).

We just got a quote from a home remodeling GC for a remodel of our master bath and bedroom for $200 THOUSAND. That's before taxes, designer costs, and permitting fees. So, essentially a quarter million dollars for a remodel of one bedroom and its bathroom.
